Description Located in our Machine Shop at NOV Process and Flow Control, Montrose, and reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for programming and the operation of CNC Machine DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : Manufacture components to standards/procedures set out by NOV & NOV’s customers Ensure that all defects to materials, components or equipment are reported to the Production Manager as required by company procedures Liaise with the Production Manager on any customer, project or other issues arising Report any Environmental and Health & Safety issues that arise Train apprentices Ensure all relevant drawings, procedures and instructions are to the latest revision level, prior to any work commencing Ensure that all gauges, gauge procedures are correct and current prior to use Aid Project Engineers in the selection of tooling and capital equipment Be involved in Environmental and Health & Safety issues Aid in the creation of risk assessments as and when required Aid in the proposal and introduction of new machining techniques/machines to improve productivity or safety Ensure personal compliance with all HSE Legislation and HSE Company Policy Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by Line Manager QUALIFICATIONS: Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent work experience on CNC Machine EXPERIENCE: Experience of Premium Threading Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings/specifications etc. practical experience on CNC or Manual machines SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE: Use of CNC Machine Tools Programming of CNC Machine Tools Ability to use Inspection equipment and specialized premium thread gauges Full understanding of various methods of manufacture Skills in planning methods of machining Ability to use lifting equipment effectively Understanding of Environment and Health & Safety Competent level of understanding in: Engineering drawings Engineering terminologies Machine Tool Tooling
