Senior Technical Project Manager, Newcastle
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead and manage complex IT network projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in network infrastructure, excellent commercial and project management skills, and the ability to drive projects to successful completion within scope, time, and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
1. Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation.
2. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
3. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Stakeholder Management:
1. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their requirements and expectations.
2. Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
3. Facilitate project meetings and ensure clear communication among all project team members.
Leadership:
1. Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure projects.
2. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
3. Ensure that network solutions are aligned with business objectives and comply with industry standards and best practices.
4. Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
5. Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.
6. Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
Quality Assurance:
1. Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
2. Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and implement lessons learned.
Travel Requirements:
1. Based in the UK with the ability to travel throughout the UK as required.
2. Typically, 2-3 days a week on client sites.
Experience:
1. Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the IT network industry.
2. Proven track record of managing large-scale network infrastructure projects.
3. Strong technical knowledge of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, PMP certification preferred).
6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
