A great opportunity has arisen for a Quality professional to join the Quality Assurance Programmes team.
Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer
Salary: up to £55,000 (depending on experience)
Location: Stevenage (but will require provision of support at our other MBDA sites.) Some travel (both UK and international) may be required. Note: we may be able to offer a relocation package for this role.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically, 3 days per week on-site, due to workload classification.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
The Opportunity:
In this role, your primary responsibility will be to provide Quality Assurance support to the manufacturing team to deliver production ramp up and offload, while ensuring adherence to our Customer requirements. 1. Ensure effective management of non-conformances across the Project including supporting engineering teams with defect investigations. Provide non-conformance data analysis and summary reports into engineering/senior management and customer reviews.
2. Facilitate delivery of the Product Life Cycle Gate review process, ensuring gates are undertaken to schedule, and timely closure of actions.
3. Certify and release product to our customer in accordance with the contractual requirements.
4. Identify and share opportunities for business improvement through participation in Learning Reviews.
5. Undertake root cause analysis of critical non-conformances using industry wide problem solving methods.
6. Identify Quality issues/risks relating to potential risks for project milestone achievement, and for quality of deliverables. Identify and offer potential mitigation solutions.
7. Provide an independent quality assurance view of project compliance to MBDA BMS processes and contractual requirements.
8. Participate in the Project Quality network to report and share the quality assurance status.
9. Review and maintain contractual quality planning documentation.
10. Maintain regular dialogue with MBDA Centre of Excellences to provide assurance in the deliverables to project.
11. Support the project team in developing any local processes and delivery of training.
What we're looking for from you:
1. Preferably HND educated, or experience in Engineering and Quality Management.
2. Practitioner of current QA problem solving methods (8D, Six Sigma, DMAIC, etc.).
3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (PowerPoint, Word and Excel).
4. Knowledge of the Quality Tools and an understanding of non-conformance management using SAP would be an advantage.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and able to influence others in a collaborative way.
6. Highly self-motivated, and demonstrate a determination and persistence to deliver results despite obstacles and setbacks.
