This school looks after children who have been diagnosed with Autism, many of whom also have co-existing issues such as social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The school needs a Learning Support Assistant to support their students in day-to-day activities.
The students that attend this school are between the ages of 4 and 16. Each child has a personalised educational and health care plan and individual intervention plans designed to help them thrive. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will ensure that they are able to complete their academic work while also helping them navigate their emotions and learn functional life skills to promote independence.
What you can expect as a Learning Support Assistant:
* Deliver specific interventions designed with the student’s needs and goals in mind.
* De-escalate any meltdowns and behavior that may occur.
* Help the children work through their emotions.
