Job Description
The Training Expert will have responsibility for training Direct associates at the Banbury Plant. The role will focus heavily on delivering hands-on technical training, as well as planning and organising both internal and external training requirements
The Training Expert is an enabler to deliver the plant Compelling Business Need (CBN) through the development of internal talent and enabling the right level of competence at the right time. The emphasis is on operational competence (leadership competence sits with the UK Talent Manager) and has the accountability to enable future talent to be developed in JDE.
Responsibilities / Key activities
Leadership:
* Leads and role models output of Manufacturing Operating System - MOS supporting roll out and further development by being a member of the Organization Pillar and contributing to the pillar in an actionable way
* Delivers with excellence through engaged leadership and coaching. Drives a culture of engagement and develops capabilities
* Responsible for the competency management plan (competency matrix & competency gaps reduction) for the Plant and monitors the results on the Key Performance Indicators
* Works closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager and Human Resources Business Partner to ensure competency management system development and implementation in a standard way
* Drives proactive benchmarking with other internal and external Training Experts to generate best practice
Delivery & Cost:
* Delivers hands on, one to one or group training to a best-in-class standard and where required, deploys the train the trainer approach within the Plant, for theoretical and practical learning solutions
* Has a clear understanding of the individual contribution to the Compelling Business Need – CBN which links to the Annual Operations Plan – AOP and ultimately delivers the Value Creation Plan – VCP
* Has overall accountability for creation, understanding and leveraging of competence management in the plant which is effective, fit for purpose, cost effective and is fit for future growth
* Maintain a relationship with external training providers to ensure that a value adding service and service level (according to the service level agreement) is achieved
* Actively updates, monitors and improves on the Key Performance Indicators – KPI’s, process and system related to competence management
* Support flexibility within the manufacturing areas in the plant by leveraging the development of associates successfully operate multiple machines
Qualifications
Education
* Relevant training or instructor qualification, or equivalent experience
* Continuous improvement methodology understanding
Experience
Must have:
* Experience in manufacturing environment preferably FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) Experience in training, coaching and assessment methodology
* Experience in Management of Change
* Excellent planning skills with the ability to ruthlessly prioritise
* Dynamic self-starter with excellent communication skills for all levels of the organization
