University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust
Following the creation of a brand-new Surgical Day Case Unit, based at County Hospital, we have an opportunity for a highly enthusiastic, committed, and self-motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at UHNM to deliver patient care to the Surgical Services.
Main duties of the job
As one of several new roles to the Trust to support the elective recovery workstream, the post-holder will be involved in identifying and developing areas in which pharmacy services can be provided to patients attending the Surgical Day Case Unit and demonstrating the difference in patient care and patient outcomes by integrating into the multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will be actively involved in ensuring the safe use of medications both in hospital and on discharge and will be expected to take a lead in providing patient-centred medicines optimisation in the unit.
The Trust is actively investing in the provision of surgical care, and this new role will be integrated with the clinical team to ensure that the pharmacy team can make a difference to the patient experience. UHNM is a large teaching hospital offering a wide range of development opportunities for any individual wishing to apply for this role.
