Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet students' unique needs.
- Assist with classroom activities, including preparing resources and supporting learning objectives.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
- Work on a one-to-one basis or with small groups to provide additional learning support.
- Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents as required.
- Support students with personal care and mobility where necessary (training will be provided if needed).
- Promote social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and relationship-building.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience to support students through challenges.
- A proactive and flexible approach to working within a team environment.
- A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience working with children or young people in a school, care, or similar setting.
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Understanding of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and other developmental or learning challenges.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
- Experience in using communication systems such as Makaton, PECS, or AAC.
- First Aid or safeguarding training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
