Key responsibilities Co-ordination of Plant Health Safety & Environment Review Board (PHS & ERB) Participation and support for Area HSE Meetings, progress issues arising Ensure thorough Accident Investigations are undertaken within 5 days Leadership of the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO14001 and ISO 45001 Define HSE / Environmental training requirements for the business Deliver and co-ordinate HSE / Environmental training when appropriate Provide effective co-ordination for UK Environmental issues Assess and action HSE legislation for its effect on the HDBU Act with Occ. Health to ensure safe processes are defined for new products Act with Occ. Health to manage people safely back to work after accidents or illness Effectively manage the interface with the Stonehouse site, the global team and external interested parties on HSE initiatives and objectives. lead safety for site specific projects/installations providing advice and guidance. Share best practice and promote continuous improvement across the plant. What we’re looking for Experience in a Health & Safety Manager role, ideally within a manufacturing environment (ideally automotive). Understanding, through previous experience, of all aspects of Health, Safety & Environment (including legislation, audit handling and management systems). Well organised, with a high level of proactivity and able to manage details as appropriate. a team player with excellent inter -personal skills, who can build and maintain strong relationships, communicating effectively at all levels, to drive the safety and environment agenda forward. Proven ability to make significant decisions in a timely manner, challenging when appropriate. Have a minimum of 3 years HS&E Management System (HSEMS) experience of working in a unionised factory production environment Have a recognised National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH) or Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) qualification Auditor / Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 accreditation Self-motivated and have a strong and flexible attitude towards work Ability to stay calm in high stress situations and communicate at all levels Team Orientated. excellent motivational and people skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and to deadline when required The ability to prioritise and organise own workload Treat work colleagues with respect.
