The Architecture and Platform Lead is responsible for overseeing and developing Ocean Infinity’s IT architecture and platform infrastructure, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals and technology standards. This role plays a critical part in defining and executing the technical roadmap, optimising platform performance, and fostering innovation within the Remote Systems and Infrastructure team. The Architecture and Platform Lead will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that drive Ocean Infinity’s technology initiatives. What you will do: Define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for architecture and platform development, ensuring alignment with Ocean Infinity’s long-term goals and evolving technology landscape; Lead the design and development of platform architecture, focusing on scalability, reliability, and efficiency to support various applications and services within Ocean Infinity’s operational ecosystem; Collaborate with other technical teams, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, address technical challenges, and implement solutions that meet business needs and performance standards; Drive innovation by researching and adopting emerging technologies, tools, and best practices, ensuring the architecture remains robust, flexible, and future-ready; Oversee the continuous assessment and optimization of platform performance, identifying strategic improvements and implementing enhancements to ensure operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives; Provide mentorship and training to team leads to enhance their skills and promote growth within the team; Comply with Ocean Infinity Policies, practices, programs, and procedures as described in the Ocean Infinity management system. Complete required training as identified by Ocean Infinity Training Program; Participates in improving the Ocean Infinity management system by reporting events, attending meetings and workshops, reporting problems, and recommending improvements, as well as other related activities; Informs their manager/responsible person of any unidentified risks, hazards, or system deficiencies in the workplace by using Stop Work authority, SOB card reporting, Incident reporting or by reporting directly to relevant personnel; Communicates and implements Ocean Infinity’s policies and procedures and their requirements to employees, visitors, and contractors; Supports Ocean Infinity’s Health and safety, Environmental and Social goals; Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the Remote Systems and Infrastructure team; Ensure that all architectural designs and implementations adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements, collaborating with security and compliance teams as needed; Establish and maintain documentation standards for architecture and platform components, enabling knowledge sharing and ensuring alignment with organizational standards; Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners, ensuring they align with Ocean Infinity’s strategic and technical requirements. Who you are: 6 years in a technology management role leading multidisciplinary teams; 10 years of experience in an architecture, infrastructure, or platform engineering role; Experience in leading and managing DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering teams; Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks; Proven experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise-scale networking, compute, and storage solutions to support high-performance, resilient, and scalable platforms; Strong knowledge of cloud and on-premises infrastructure, including SD-WAN, hybrid cloud networking, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), high-availability storage (SAN, NAS, object storage), and distributed computing environments; Expertise in designing and implementing scalable, modular, and resilient platform architectures; Deep knowledge of multi-cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premise infrastructure strategies; Knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker); Familiarity with serverless computing, virtualization, and edge computing; Knowledge of one or more programming languages, such as C#, Python, and Go; Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible); Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Logic Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog; Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, zero-trust architectures, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001). Salary for this position: Southampton: Up to £90,000 per annum Porto: Up to €80,000 per annum Salary : The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
