What you'll be doing On a day to day basis you will be supporting the Master Data Manager with the effective operation of the Master Data team. In addition to being the first point of contact for escalations from publishers, the team and other departments within Hachette UK Distribution, you will deputise for the Master Data Manager, which will include representing the team at internal and external meetings both in person and virtually. You will be leading team catchups to communicate updates, plan resource and workloads and to discuss continuous improvement activities. You will proactively liaise with customers, publishers and internal departments to provide insights, ensure swift problem resolution and to maintain a first- class working relationship. Additionally, you will be attending Team Leader meetings to provide updates on team performance and to communicate business updates back to the Master Data team. Your daily tasks will include supporting the Master Data Manager and Master Data Advisors with: Completing regular reporting requirements internally and for a range of publishers. Query resolution for the business and publishers. Reconciling customer and title data records on behalf of HUKD and all its publishers. Creation and maintenance of customer and title files using a range of SAP system transaction programs. Supporting the onboarding of new clients, by completing customer matching, setting up of new publisher requirements, working to project timelines and attending regular engagement meetings. Completing set up of Master Data requirements for new Publisher acquisitions. Carrying out regular title loading requirements for a variety of publishers. Completing set up process for new account creation to enable customers to trade with publishers. Resolving requests and queries from customers, publishers and internal departments within Hachette UK. Preparing and processing master data requests received from customers, publishers and internal departments. Supporting system changes/improvements by developing UAT scenarios and delivering SME testing, to enable sign off of changes for Master Data requirements. You will also support the team's development by delivering training on Master Data processes, ensuring that all team processes are captured and maintained in a full suite of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). You will need to ensure that all work carried out on behalf of HUKD and its clients is carried out within acceptable timeframes. You will also need to identify ways to improve processes to enhance service and productivity and to ensure that high standards of quality and productivity are maintained in accordance with our internal Quality programme. As part of the Master Data team, you will work to departmental performance targets, to ensure that service levels are met and exceeded. You will be demonstrating growth mindset by working with your Manager and team members, to promote change that will improve customer and Publisher experience and ensure continued high standards of quality and productivity are maintained. This role offers the opportunity to become an essential part of the Master Data team within the Customer Services Department and gain lots of experience regarding distribution and elements of the publishing industry. Following your initial training period which will be based in our offices in Didcot, Oxfordshire, you will be able to make the most of the current hybrid model (minimum 2 days per week in the office).
