Job Title: Team Manager – Assessment & Intervention (Duty & Assessment Team)
Location: Follaton House, Totnes (On-site, 5 days every other week and as required)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Team Manager to join our Duty and Assessment Team within the Assessment & Intervention service in South. The successful candidate will support and guide the practice of our social workers to ensure that children and young people receive the right interventions at the right time, ultimately improving their outcomes.
Our Team Managers play a critical role in delivering high-quality services, quality assuring work, and managing staff performance when necessary. As a restorative local authority, we require managers to model this approach across the team. You will be expected to attend and engage in mandatory training, which is central to our ongoing efforts to build, maintain, and repair relationships with children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, support, and develop the Duty and Assessment team, ensuring that high standards of practice are maintained.
Ensure that children and young people are receiving timely and appropriate interventions to improve their outcomes.
Quality assure social work practice and provide performance management when needed.
Model restorative approaches within the team, supporting social workers to deliver best practice.
Attend and engage in mandatory training to support professional development and enhance team effectiveness.
Manage case allocations and ensure effective and efficient delivery of services.
Participate in management meetings and provide guidance on safeguarding and court work.
Build strong relationships within the team and with external stakeholders to promote a collaborative approach to service delivery.Qualifications and Experience:
Significant experience as a Team Manager in Safeguarding and court work.
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to lead, support, and develop the team.
A proven track record in managing complex cases and promoting high standards of practice.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within a restorative local authority or a similar environment.
A relevant social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.Pay Rate: Up to £48 per hour for experienced Team Managers.
The pay rate is dependent on experience within frontline services and will be agreed with the hiring manager upon successful interview.
Additional Information:
On-Site Requirement: Candidates must be able to commit to being on-site at Follaton House, Totnes for 5 days every other week during their duty weeks and for additional requirements such as training and managers' meetings during their non-duty weeks.
