Role purpose
This role will support the Cost Management Program by providing targeted analytics and insight on the underlying variables that generate costs in retail banking operations e.g. card issuance, print & post, cash provision.
The role holder will be part of a virtual team, operating globally and supporting analytics that the management team require to identify customer-centric, cost reduction opportunities in pursuit of Global Operations’ cost savings targets.

In this role you will:
• Be supporting a programme in Global Operations to reduce year-on-year costs by $45m.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to interpret data and proactively generate insight to identify cost saving opportunities.
• Develop new datasets from source systems which link customer demographics to operational costs and revenues to support customer-centric business decisioning regarding cost reduction initiatives
• Execute on the development of Total Cost of Ownership models which allow management to make fact-based business decisions with full visibility of the impact on customers and revenue.
• Be involved in end-to-end cost management programme right through to support stakeholders and focuses teams on continuous improvement, both in terms of the insights delivered and the delivery process.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements
• Previous experience as a data analyst is essential
• Experience in Relational databases, SQL, Python, R, Big Query, SAS, data models and data science is required
• Excellent Data crunching, Insight generation, Storytelling and Presentation skills is essential
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of working with the Agile methodology and associated tool sets – Jira, Confluence etc.
Desirable
• Demonstrated results in delivering performance improvement, successfully applying innovative thinking
• Experience in financial services is desirable
The role is based in Sheffield as the primary location UK Hybrid – Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh
