We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join a growing Nottingham Technology Hub to support and drive testing & quality initiatives in conjunction with the development of our fintech applications. Ensuring the quality of our business systems is paramount, so you can get behind data that really matters. Across this role you will help us build data delivery frameworks of the future, mainly in AWS but also using other cloud environments and periodically, our own data centres. You will also support and help implement the modernisation of our testing strategy as we transition into a microservices architectures and enable continuous delivery on the cloud. Therefore, we will continue to develop you while you're in your role through e-learning platforms, AWS courses, and international projects. Role Purpose o Drive quality control tests and analysis of outcomes to ensure technology solutions meet or exceed user acceptances standards and requirements. Role Responsibilities o Design and code automated tests in Java (Junit, Rest-Assured) and UI testing tools (Selenium). o Embrace Behaviour Driven Development practices, e.g., 3 Amigos collaboration and Gherkin/Cucumber. o Implement a wide range of quality control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end user requirements o Drafts and revises test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and technology strategy. o Studies requirement specifications and raise clarifications with Business and Technical Analysts. o Performs ongoing maintenance of testing technologies, resolving issues and escalating where necessary. o Recommends and supports the implementation of improvements to quality control frameworks, processes, and best practices. Minimum Requirements o This is an Individual Contributor role o Knowledge of standard software quality assurance processes and methodologies o Experience in designing and writing test automation scripts o Experience in the software development life cycle, preferably in testing multi-tiered applications. o Enthusiasm for learning and developing themselves as a tester.
