Crewe Flyers Swimming Club in Cheshire is looking for an inspiring and experienced Head Coach to start from May or June 2025, due to the retirement of our current Head Coach.
As the Head Coach, you will play a crucial role in the strategic development and performance of our swimmers and coaching staff. You will be responsible for leading and developing our competitive swimming programme.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of competitive swimming, excellent leadership skills and a proven ability to inspire and motivate athletes to achieve their absolute potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and lead comprehensive training programmes that align with the goals of the club for the various age groups and skill levels, including junior, developmental and competitive swimmers.
* Coach the performance squads.
* Monitor and evaluate swimmers’ progress, providing individualised feedback and adjustments to training as needed.
* Mentor and develop our small team of coaches.
* Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages personal growth, sportsmanship and a positive work ethic.
* Plan and coordinate participation in local, regional and national level competitions.
* Attend competitions, providing support and guidance to individual swimmers and relay teams.
* Ensure compliance with Swim England policies, including Wavepower.
* Engage with the Club Committee and parents, providing regular updates on training, competitions and club initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award
* Enhanced DBS with barring check and right to work in the UK
* A full driving licence to reach required training and competition locations
* Hold or be prepared to undertake qualifications in first aid and safeguarding, and continuing professional development to meet current Swim England requirements, including Wave Power
* Swim England Senior Swimming Coach/ASA Level 3 Coaching Award
* Land training qualification (or be willing to undertake this)
