We are currently looking to appoint for the position of Technical Asset Manager to help support the long-term operation of our growing renewable energy portfolio.

Location: Central Bristol office at least two days per week with remote working options. Flexible working considered. While our office is in Bristol, our portfolio of project sites is spread across the UK and we are open to a hybrid or remote working arrangement for the right candidate.
Hours: Our office hours are 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch but are flexible. This role is available on a flexible basis, full time or part time.

Responsibilities of the Technical Asset Manager include:
* Manage and organise contractors in day to day running of operational projects including:
Safety: Site inductions, risk assessments, WTSR, statutory inspections, CDM, emergency response planning.
Performance: Coordinating scheduled services, monitoring fault responses and being proactive to prevent downtime with the aim to achieve high availability and output from the project against high quality expectations.
Compliance: Adhering to planning, regulatory, PPA and contractual requirements.
* Seek to maximise revenue through optimised asset performance as well as eligible warranty or insurance claims.
* Maintain a suite of project documents and performance information for the purpose of internal reporting, analysis, strategic planning and ongoing asset optimisation.
* Maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders such as contractors, landlords, host organisations and community groups.
* Negotiate with suppliers and engage third party professional services to agree new / renewing terms for operational contracts or manage end of contract requirements.
* Support, promote and oversee site activities which put Thrive policy into practice – areas such as community engagement, biodiversity, net zero and sustainable procurement.
* Work with the Head of Operations to forecast and adhere to annual project budgets.
* Produce data, graphs and commentary to internal and third party reporting timetables.
* Work with the Investment Team to transition new projects from investment stage into operations.
Skills / experience required:
* First hand experience of organising and coordinating contractors to deliver site works in a safe and optimum manner. Ability to plan ahead but also respond to opportunities or barriers such as changing weather conditions.
* Confidence in understanding, reviewing and applying safety arrangements such as safe systems of work, risk assessments and reported near miss events. Familiarity with industry specific guidelines such as WTSR, operational control or having worked on maintain assets directly would be an advantage.
* Demonstrable technical awareness of the renewables / battery storage sector including warranties and availability. Experience of applying this awareness to enhance project performance, revenues and returns.
* Hands on experience of contractor performance management. Ability to get the best long term relationship-based performance from contractors against an agreed scope of work including when things are not going well.
* Experience of negotiating and executing key project documents such as service contracts, land leases and power purchase agreements.
* Experience of procuring and working effectively with legal and technical advisors. You will ideally have experience of setting out criteria for adviser selection, building relationships and communicating with legal and technical advisors.
* Good time management and organisational skills. The role involves managing multiple simultaneous tasks against priorities and deadlines – which can be subject to change – requiring good self management and flexibility.
* IT literate including familiarity with Office 365, intermediate / advanced Excel. The role involves managing / analysing data sets and accurate reporting of figures: you will need strong Excel skills including complex formulas and an ability to embrace new tools such as PowerBI and bespoke applications.
* Analytical and inquisitive mind set, keen to challenge and understand why.
* Some travel will be required to project sites, external meetings and conferences. A full UK driving licence would be an advantage.
Relationships:
Reporting to the Head of Operations. Working within the operations team and alongside the investment, finance and communications teams. Liaising with external asset managers, contractors, project stakeholders and professional services.
