Hours: Full Time (37.5 hours per week, fixed-term until March 2025 with the possibility of extension). We welcome full or part-time applicants.

The role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to reducing drug and alcohol-related harms in Bristol. Engagement team members operate an open-access drop-in 6 days a week, needle and syringe provision, provide naloxone and blood-borne virus testing, support a variety of partner organisations, and are regularly involved in research projects.
You will be able to build a rapport quickly and be passionate about getting the best out of people. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage a busy diary in a job where no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide evidence-based interventions to service users to reduce drug and alcohol-related harm.
2. Facilitate access to treatment for people who want to make changes to their use of alcohol and/or other drugs.
3. Reduce barriers to treatment for groups underrepresented in Bristol’s drug and alcohol treatment system.
4. Deliver training for service users and professionals across Bristol.
What we are looking for:
1. Strong engagement skills, demonstrating flexibility, persistence, and imagination in engaging service users.
2. Confidence in setting boundaries and working with people experiencing emotional dysregulation.
3. Ability to liaise effectively with other organisations, including GPs and other health professionals.
4. A profound belief in an individual’s capacity for change and an ability to motivate others to change.
5. A commitment to reducing harm caused by substance use to individuals, families, and communities.
