At our GSC Worthing site, we have a proud heritage in global manufacture of oral antibiotics (solid dose and dry powder suspension), The site also manufactures bulk export material for use at other manufacturing sites in our network. On site we produce over 50 million packs to our patients each year, with growing demand in the future. As a packaging technologist aligned to project delivery as part of the site MSAT team, you will be accountable for delivering against the project plan, liaising with a diverse Manufacturing Science & Technology team, collaborating with other teams on site, other sites in our network and global markets. Discover more about our company wide benefits and life at GSK on our webpage Life at GSK | GSK In this role you will: Lead and deliver packaging performance improvement projects through identification and application of specific knowledge/expertise per packaging material, conversion process, component and printing techniques to improve efficiencies, drive down cost, improve value of established products. Actively contribute and collaborate with stakeholders to support definition, design and development of primary, secondary, tertiary packaging materials and distribution pack design Assessment of operational feasibility of new/proposed primary, secondary, tertiary and ancillary packaging materials by leading various packaging trials on shop-floor in consultation with value stream. Active identification of risk and to derive risk index value of new / proposed packs by conducting packaging material risk assessments, failure mode effective analysis and extractable and leachable risk assessments where applicable. Accountable for the delivery of material and equipment performance qualifications, including the authoring of key documents and involvement in validation strategy. Provide troubleshooting support for production processes and equipment. Support process and technical investigations, including corrective and preventative actions and internal problem notifications. Qualifications & Skills: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: Degree level qualification (or strong equivalent experience) in an appropriate discipline Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated Project Management skills and experience, particularly on major technical and/or capital projects. Detailed experience of Quality by Design and risk management approaches, including FMEA, RCA and technical risks assessments Proven capabilities in enabling and driving change, delivering solutions, developing people, and building relationships across multiple interfaces and in a matrix environment. Preferred Qualifications & Skills: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Strong ability to manage and influence stakeholder at site and the wider business. Thorough knowledge of GMP and Regulatory requirements. Ability to use and interpret data to drive decision making at tactical level. Thorough operational knowledge of manufacturing unit operations and plant/laboratory equipment Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the organisation. Experience in Operational Excellence tools, and use of process performance metric. Manufacturing at the Worthing site is for antibiotics.
