St Margaret’s Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Lymphoedema keyworker to join their team. This role is based in Taunton. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,414.79 per annum. A rare opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic team as a lymphoedema keyworker, managing patients with mild to moderate oedema. Our team provides patient-focused care to patients with lymphoedema throughout Somerset, regardless of cause. This includes patients with primary or secondary lymphoedema as well as those with advanced disease. We also work closely with oncology nurse specialists to monitor patients at high risk of developing lymphoedema, providing education and early detection to improve outcome. We provide a wide range of treatments including compression therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, laser therapy, kinesiotaping and exercise groups. Your day to day job will involve: Your day to day work will include: Providing support, advice and information to patients, their families and carers and other health care professionals on all aspects of lymphoedema, including the promotion of self-management. Using assessment strategies and providing care to patients with primary and secondary lymphoedema, including patients with life-limiting conditions. Assessing physiological and/or psychological functioning of patients with lymphoedema, determining treatment and the need to refer to other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Using your skills and knowledge to ensure the safe and effective use of relevant equipment provided for the assessment, treatment and evaluation of patients. Making referrals to the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring seamless service for patients and an integrated approach to care management between organisations and agencies What will you be good at? This post would suit a registered nurse with experience in community nursing, oncology and palliative care or a physiotherapist or occupational therapist with an interest in developing their skills in lymphoedema management and who believes in our values and wants to make a positive difference by working with an innovative and respected organisation.
