We have an opportunity for a Senior Building Automation Engineer to join our team, working on a variety of high-tech building design and construction projects. Project focus would initially be data centres and telecommunications facilities and would grow to include a variety of other facilities including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, or institutional. This role sits within our global facilities services Mission Critical team, providing an opportunity to build your career and your team to serve this expanding sector. The Senior Building Automation Engineer will help lead either multi-disciplinary or controls-specific engineering teams to develop and review Instrument & Controls Engineering design packages, perform calculations and develop engineering solutions in support of capital and retrofit projects in a variety of locations. Work duties can consist of any of the following depending on client, project, and consultant role: - Lead development of design drawings and specifications for design of primarily HVAC control systems and EPMS, for both PLC-based systems and DDC-based systems (System is client-specific) - Coordinate with mechanical and electrical design teams to develop Sequences of Operations and Point Lists for HVAC control and electrical monitoring of equipment and systems - Client facing, skilled at communicating in meetings and presentations. - Create engineering drawings for control panel and field wiring designs including installation details, bill of material, and P&IDs - Manage quality reviews of project submittals. - Evaluate technical bids and managing vendor and subconsultant contracts - Review and approving of vendor and subconsultant drawings, including Sequences of Operation, Points Lists, Engineering Drawings, Bill of Materials, Graphics, and Test Scripts - Participate in Software Bench Tests, Software Factory Acceptance Tests, and Equipment Factory Witness Tests - Provide technical assistance during commissioning at project site. - Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies. - Facilitate multi-consultant and Owner meetings for design changes and implementation - Produce diagrams, assist production of engineering drawings using Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, or ePlan - Manages small projects. - Responsible for quality assurance, review and improvements and the coordination of tasks and personnel. - Resolves RFIs and develop work plans. - Ensures adherence to client and industry standards and applies client or industry standards, guidelines, specifications, practices and procedures in preparing designs. - Builds relationships at all levels and mentor staff. - All other duties as Assigned - Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff. - Responsible for QA/QC process adherence. - Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications - Bachelor Degree in Engineering and 7 years of either I&C or mechanical HVAC engineering experience Required. - Experience designing BAS systems for large and complex projects. - Field experience in installation, commissioning, and/or trouble shooting of BAS systems in buildings. - Ability to interface, mentor and collaborate effectively with your team members - Demonstrated ability to lead a team. - Strong organization, delegation, presentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills. - Proficient with business and engineering applications. - Microsoft Office proficiency are a must. - Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and drawing production from Revit. - Chartered Engineer (CEng) in Mechanical or I&C Preferred or - Incorporated Engineer (IEng) in Mechanical or I&C Preferred EEO/Minorities/Disabled/Females/Veterans Job Engineering Primary Location GB-London, UK-London Schedule: Full-time Travel: Yes, 10 % of the Time Req ID: 240662 Job Hire Type Experienced LI-JA UKO N/A
