What we are looking for: Qualifications: Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) National Award for SEN Co-ordination / NPQ for SENCOs (or be in first 3 years of a SENCO role) Degree or equivalent. NPQSL and/or NPQH (desirable) Management & Organization Skills: A highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic person who is approachable and promotes positive relationships and has high expectations. Ability to effectively manage student discipline and have a commitment to a high level of pastoral care Partnership & Community Engagement: Proven experience working collaboratively with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse and challenging needs. Knowledge: Knowledge of equality of opportunity, safeguarding, child protection and inclusion issues and how they can be addressed effectively in schools with high levels of vulnerable children Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify and address challenges faced by students, ensuring appropriate follow-up and support for their individual needs. Communication: To be able to communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing, with a diverse range of audiences, including children, parents and carers, governors, and colleagues Experience: Experience teaching across the secondary age range, with a proven track record as a creative and adaptabe Head of SENwho inspires and motivates students. Familiarity with virtual learning environments is desirable.
