An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 x dedicated and motivated Cardiac/Heart Failure Nurse or Senior Nurses with experience of working within Cardiology/Heart Failure, to work within the Heart Failure Service at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holders will form part of the Heart Failure Specialist Nurse Team in assessing and educating patients admitted with a primary diagnosis or problematic new or problematic secondary diagnosis of heart failure, within WUTH in line with NICE Guidance for Heart Failure.
The post holders will be responsible for assessing patients’ suitability for attending the Heart Failure Day Case Unit (HFDCU) for both IV Furosemide and IV Ferinject, following Trust Guidance for both treatments. Whilst patients are in attendance, the HFSSN will be responsible for full assessment and of each patient to allow the Heart Failure Team to prescribe treatment accordingly.

The post holder will participate in collecting, recording and submitting data to meet the requirements of NICOR i.e for The National Heart Failure Audit.
The post holder will be trained to perform Nurse Led Heart Failure Clinics at Clatterbridge Hospital to clinically review, educate and commence/titrate Heart Failure Medications.
