We are excited to be looking for an individual with a passion for Parkinson's disease and enthusiasm and drive to support the well-established current service.
The service currently consists of one PDNS, one Consultant, and a GP with a specialist interest in Parkinson's at Princess of Wales Hospital.
There is currently a team of PDNS's working within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
The role is to act as a highly skilled resource within the field of Parkinson's Disease (PD).
To deliver safe and effective interventions, advice, and support for people with Parkinson's disease and their families.
To provide specialist advice, support, and education for health professionals in both primary and secondary care settings.
There will be ample opportunity for learning and development in this exciting role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties of the Job
To manage a caseload of patients with PD through the four stages of the illness from diagnosis, maintenance, complex, and palliative, using evidence-based principles to assess individual needs, set and implement programmes of care, and evaluate interventions in both the hospital and community settings.
To participate in planning, developing, and evaluating PD services within CTMUHB.
Contribute to research-based nursing practice and monitor the quality of the service provided. Undertake professional activities such as audit, CPD, teaching, research, and administration.
To deliver education and training regarding the management of Parkinson's to patients, families, health, and social care professionals in both primary and secondary care, including private and voluntary organizations.

Qualifications / Knowledge
* UK Registered Nurse (Adult or dual registration in Mental Health)
* Knowledge in clinical specialty
Experience
* Current and substantial post-registration experience working within Primary and/or Secondary Care
