Since our founding, UCL has blazed its own trail, fostering a vibrant, diverse community of world-class academics, staff, students, and alumni who aren’t afraid to think big and think differently. Together, we question the status quo, challenge assumptions, and tackle some of the world’s most complex problems head-on.
Now, we’re setting up something exciting – a brand new Strategic Change Office designed to turn UCL’s bold ambitions into action. This is your chance to be part of shaping a high-performance portfolio office from the ground up. As part of the wider Strategic Change Team, you’ll have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas, create meaningful impact, and help drive transformation across the institution.
About the role
You'll be at the heart of managing and overseeing our strategic initiatives, creating reporting packs, visual tools like the Plan-on-a-Page, and developing and refining governance, benefits management, and reporting frameworks. Your insights and analysis will directly support senior-level decision-making, ensuring that our strategic initiatives are well-executed. In this role you'll design and implement robust Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management (PPM) frameworks that uphold best practices and align with our strategic goals. You'll be instrumental in fostering transparent processes, managing risks effectively, and delivering timely, impactful reports.
About you
You bring substantial experience in portfolio management within large, complex organisations, having developed and delivered reporting packs for senior management and governance boards. Your expertise includes creating detailed and high-level plans on a page, managing PPM standards, and conducting thorough programme reviews and health checks.
You are skilled at coaching teams on benefits tracking and reporting and using data to drive decision-making. Proficient with PPM tools like MS Project, Planview, and JIRA, you excel at communicating complex issues to diverse audiences and managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
What we offer
In return, you’ll have the opportunity to make a significant impact in a newly established Strategic Change Office, working alongside visionary leaders and talented colleagues. We offer a collaborative environment where your ideas are valued, your growth is supported, and your work directly contributes to the university’s bold strategic goals. Our people really are our greatest asset, and we invest in them so that they can fulfil their potential. Equity, diversity and inclusion are important to us. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone is encouraged to give their best in a place where their unique experiences, perspectives and skills are seen as valuable assets.
As well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits, some of which are below:

2. Additional 5 days’ annual leave purchase scheme
