Registered Manager Children’s Home £45,000 to £60,000 dependent on experience Bolton Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, 37.5 hours per week Registered Manager The Role You will be responsible for a 5 bedroomed, newly refurbished residential care home in Bolton. The home will provide residential short and long-term care, supporting up to 3 young people aged 5-18. You will be responsible for building a team and creating a “family” setting. Your main responsibilities will include… · As the registered Manager of a Children's Residential Home, your primary responsibility is to oversee the effective operation and management of our children’s home, prioritising the needs of vulnerable children and young people. · You will ensure that the home operates in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines, focusing on providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for all children. · Your role is pivotal in delivering high-quality care and support that meets each child's needs, promoting their well-being, development, and empowerment. · Focus on operational and clinical services, while meeting standards and be the key contact for the home in relation to CQC inspection, and admission · Coordinating care services, undertaking Care plans, reports and reviews · Developing relationships with care home residents and patients · Hiring care home staff and managing a care team · Training and developing care home staff · Responsible for Policies and Procedures under the legal framework · Carrying out administrative duties · Building partnerships with local community support networks · Finances and budgeting · Participate with on call duties and attend and emergencies · Responsible for creating and managing staff rota Registered Manager The Candidate You will be an experienced registered manager with strong knowledge and experience in safeguarding children and young people. You will also have the following skills, experiences and attributes… · Must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle · Ideally you will be degree qualified in a relevant subject such as social care management, nursing or health but this is not essential · Level 5 Diploma in leadership management in Children and Young people in care. · 2 years experience of working as a Registered Manager in a children’s care home · Empathy and compassion: many children and young people in care, face loss, trauma and isolation from their family. Compassion and empathy help you relate to their predicament and build strong relationships with them. · People skills: as a registered manager, you spend most of your day interacting with residents and talking to their families or care home workers. Hence, you need people skills to interact confidently with other people. You have to listen carefully and respond professionally to everyone. · leadership skills: a registered manager is a leader in charge of the activities in a care home. You need leadership skills to promote good relationships with the residents, staff and professionals. · time management: working in a care home is fast paced, since you have numerous activities to juggle.
