Job summary Are you an enthusiastic clinical psychologist? We are looking for a psychologist to join our newly launched Complex Trauma pathway within Dorset. Dorset HealthCare has recently transformed its Community Mental Health Services and, as part of this investment, has launched a new pathway for people who have experienced complex trauma and/or who have complex emotional needs. We are looking for Psychologists trained in NICE Approved treatment modalities (for example, DBT, CAT, ACT, EMDR). We can consider applicants who are committed to training in these areas. As a Clinical Psychologist you willbe solely accountable and responsible for the direct delivery of psychological services to adults with Complex Trauma presentations. You will be skilled in assessment, formulation, and in the delivery of appropriate highly specialised programmes of care, including psychotherapy, where highly complex facts must be considered, and where expert opinion may differ. You will need to plan and prioritise patient workload whilst coordinating with existing teams and other agencies. The role is diverse and allows opportunities to develop your own individual therapy skills, work on service development, continue with your professional development, and work with a range of really skilled professionals who are all passionate about working with adults. This is a full-time post of up to 37.5 hours per week (part time considered). Main duties of the job Clinical work covers a whole range of different problems with which patients may present, as well as skilled and often complex assessments. Consultation and supervision of other professionals from within the Adult/Older Persons Psychology teams, as well as the wider MDT is a regular part of your role. Provide highly specialised advice to clients, their families and carers where appropriate, and to staff of the community team and other organisations involved in care. You will be responsible for developing highly specialised programmes of care. Judgements need to be made involving highly complex facts or situations, which require the analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.
