Due to continued growth in our business, we are looking to build our existing teams to meet the demands of our customers.
Our Low Risk Kitchen department is a vital part of our process here at Oscar Mayer, ensuring that the ingredients for our Ready Meals are prepared and cooked to the correct standards to meet our customers' criteria.
Within our department, there are various sections, of which you could be working in. This ranges from vegetable prep, sauce cooking and working with our Kettles/cook section, which controls all aspects of cooking of all fresh sauces we use within our factory.
Main Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Preparing and cooking of food using a variety of industrial machines and processes.
2. Handling products such as meat, fish and dairy.
3. Certain roles include using computer systems to manage food production.
4. You must be able to follow step by step processes and record your activities both on paper and on our systems.
5. Measure ingredients and prepare them in accordance to specifications.
6. Stores ingredients in dedicated containers, making sure that they maintain freshness and quality.
7. Informs supervisors when the ingredients stock is getting low or when the machinery does not work properly.
8. Clear understanding of food hygiene regulations.
9. Cleans and sanitises the working surfaces, tools, utensils and working area.
10. Carefully supervises the food temperature and maintain records.
11. Once trained, ensure satisfactory knowledge of the products produced by the factory.
12. Acceptable knowledge of safety and health principles.
13. Capability to comprehend and follow quality control techniques.
14. Ability to utilise diverse machines and possession of practical aptitude.
15. Sound communication aptitude in delivering beneficial teamwork.
16. Must be precise, careful, patient with the ability to work under pressure.
Requirements:
1. You must at least be 18 years old to work at Oscar Mayer (due to our shift patterns).
2. Experience within food manufacturing, food handling/preparation or catering (Desirable).
3. Ability and experience using a computer (Essential).
4. Good understanding of verbal and written English language (Essential).
5. Experience with KPI’s and working to targets.
6. Ability to work in a team and follow instructions and processes.
7. Good communication skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure.
