The Food Transformation Lead will report into the Director of UK Campus Operations and take ownership of the strategic transformation of our food team behaviours.
This marquee role within our esteemed banking client’s contract comes at an exciting time of change and growth, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
You will be instrumental in transforming commercial performance and future-proofing our food outlets on the Glasgow campus.
Job Description
This role has two primary objectives. First, you will enhance the food safety culture on campus by focusing on team training and instilling a renewed commitment to safe food operating standards.
You will ensure the right people, with the right skills and training, are in place to deliver consistently excellent service.
Your dedication to driving positive safety behaviours will be reflected in team performance and customer experience, measured in part by HappyorNot data.
Secondly, you will lead the transformation of our food outlets to align with evolving customer and client needs.
With a focus on automation and speed of service, you will implement strategic changes to enhance efficiency and commercial performance under the contract.
A thorough financial review of each outlet will drive improvements, ensuring long-term sustainability and success.
Key Responsibilities
* Vital role within the contract during a period of change and transformation
* Secure contract until New Year's Eve 2029 with key challenges ahead
* Food subsidies reduced from £1.2M to £650K, requiring focus on labour utilisation and potential cross-skilling (e.g., porterage)
* Greggs outlet opening on campus, must manage relationship and mitigate potential revenue losses
* Tesco Express opening nearby, adding competition
* Staff increasing office time from May 5th, creating opportunities to drive revenue
* Introduction of vending machines/smart vends to reduce labour costs
* 7 food outlets on-site—initial focus on stabilising Glasgow operations and managing key stakeholders
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Experience within the food sector is essential
* Experience project managing/leading a piece of transformation/change
* Experience in leading change in a hotel food outlet background would work or a multi-food outlet mall type setting would also be of interest
