The Opportunity The Global Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T) Director is a new position to Dechra and is critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the Manufacturing Science and Technology activities across our network. It oversees the manufacturing and technological advancements of our global production processes, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation. This role is critical to maintaining our competitive edge in the market and driving continuous improvement across all manufacturing sites worldwide. Role Responsibility So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including: Develop, implement, and execute a manufacturing, science and technology roadmap through the evaluation of key operational and technology risks across the internally and externally produced products and sites aligned to the overall business objectives. This will require partnering with various stakeholders specifically Product Development & Regulatory Affairs (PDRA) and Project Management Office (PMO) to understand the pipeline of new products being introduced to Dechra and those being transferred across the network. Build and develop an expert MS&T team to provide technical process leadership across our global network, both at internal DM&S sites and our external manufacturing partners. Coach, develop and manage MS&T team ensuring team's objectives are delivered. Mentor team members to ensure they are fully capable and confident to participate in regulatory inspections and address health authority questions and request. Build a collaborative team culture to encourage knowledge sharing and cross functional working, acting as a positive mentor for those identified as talent. Collaborate with cross-functional teams specifically PDRA to facilitate product lifecycle management and the seamless introduction of new products into the internal and external network. Ownership of our technical transfer processes and process validation ensuring they are fit for purpose for the Dechra strategy and in compliance with regulatory expectations. For pre-process validation or technology transfer, collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure their operations are set-up for success through the provision of robust manufacturing processes and technology including high quality routine manufacturing documents. Continuously review and enhance our process control strategy to ensure the robustness and reliability of our manufacturing processes, thereby reducing supply risk. Partner with PD to ensure the design and scale-up of processes are executable by manufacturing operations when moving into full-scale manufacturing including successful integration of knowledge management into manufacturing operations Oversee the development and optimization of manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production whilst complying with global cGMP regulatory standards and industry best practices. Serve as a key technical leader during regulatory inspections and audits, demonstrating expertise and a commitment to compliance. Anticipate, respond to and permanently resolve issues arising during production by establishing systems and procedures to enable proactive process monitoring, analysis and reporting of manufacturing process data. Provide local MS&T team support for critical manufacturing investigations and technical oversight of deviations, change controls and CAPA for both internally and externally manufactured products. Lead a team who manage global projects related to process improvements, new technology implementation, and capacity expansions which are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Ensure all decisions are taken using a structured approach to evaluate ESG-related risks, opportunities, and impact on goals and targets, including production cost, efficiency, productivity and quality benchmarks. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the manufacturing industry. Additional Information: Frequent global travel may be required with this role.
