Job title: Senior Commissioning Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
The Senior Commissioning Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and successful operation of the ships. They are responsible for overseeing the testing, inspection, and verification of all systems and equipment onboard the vessel, ensuring they function according to design specifications and meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
* Planning and organising: Creating and managing commissioning plans, schedules, and resources for assigned projects.
* Technical expertise: Possessing in-depth knowledge of various shipboard systems, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
* Testing and verification: Executing or supervising tests on individual components, subsystems, and entire systems to ensure they meet performance criteria.
* Documentation: Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation of testing procedures, results, and any identified issues.
* Safety compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to all safety regulations and procedures throughout the commissioning process.
* Problem-solving: Identifying and troubleshooting any technical problems encountered during testing and implementing corrective actions.
* Communication and collaboration: Effectively communicating with various stakeholders, including project managers, designers, contractors, and crew members.
* Leadership and mentoring: In senior positions, supervising and mentoring junior commissioning engineers, providing guidance and training.
Qualifications & Skills:
* HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline (Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) or equivalent experience.
* Experience in shipboard commissioning, preferably in a shipyard environment.
* Strong understanding of shipboard systems and their functionalities.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
