We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Onsite based Pharmacy Technician due to company growth and expansion to work Full Time within Abbey Road Surgery, Waltham Cross. This opportunity is available for highly motivated and focused Pharmacy Technicians, who will be responsible for the smooth running of day-to-day activities within general practice, whilst playing a vital role in providing clinical support and advice to patients focusing on best practice and adhering to safety guidelines.
Full Time hours can be worked within core opening hours of the GP practice.
Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician you will confidently act within professional standards and boundaries, supporting and working alongside your General Practice team as well as Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians within TPN.
You will help resolve medication-related queries, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, improve patient outcomes and support the improvement of access to healthcare.
Job responsibilities
1. Medication Reconciliations using clinical letters and post Hospital Discharge Summaries
2. Medicine Management including Prescription screening and processing
3. Respond and communicate to patient related medication queries
4. Communicate with local pharmacies regarding stock supplies issues and shortages
5. Medication synchronisation in line with regular repeat prescription
6. Medication monitoring recalls (e.g BP, blood tests, annual reviews)
7. Prescribing audits in line with CQC/QOF targets as set by the Prescribing Team (training can be provided)
8. Standard/Annual medication monitoring
9. Shared Care Protocols
10. Action medicines safety alerts from CAS/MHRA/ICB
11. Level 1 and 2 Medication reviews (training can be given)
12. Assist with Pre-SMR (Structure Medication Review) Screening (training can be given)
Person Specification
Experience
* Have 6-12 months experience of working in Primary Care/General Practice
Qualifications
* A minimum of 6 months experience working within general practice.
* A relevant qualification to show you are a registered Pharmacy Technician with GPHC
* Experience with EMIS or System 1
* To be able to commute to the designated practice to be onsite
* Desirable to already be enrolled on the CPPE Primary Care pathway or completed already.
