Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join their SEND unit. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored educational support to students with various needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and emotional and social difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the delivery of individual education plans (IEPs) and support plans for students with SEND.
2. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in and out of the classroom.
3. Collaborate with teachers to adapt lessons and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
4. Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
5. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
6. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting SEND.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a SEND context.
2. A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEND.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
6. Knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices is an advantage.
