We are developing a new net zero plan for the Council plus actively supporting the delivery of the Suffolk Climate Emergency plan. We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council's Climate Change and Sustainability team as a Net Zero Delivery Officer. The role: This is a new role that will focus on the creation and delivery of the ESC net zero plan. Key priorities will be enabling the delivery of projects to decarbonise heating systems across East Suffolk Council buildings, installing renewable energy generation across our estate plus accelerating the roll-out of electric vehicle charging infrastructure for the public and our fleet. You will also provide guidance to a new East Suffolk community renewable energy programme being developed and led by a partner organisation across the district, sharing knowledge and supporting its implementation. You will also be instrumental in enabling Suffolk-level projects by working with external partners to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support the transition to a low carbon economy, What you will need: We are seeking an individual who has experience of delivering and managing similar projects. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence partners across the authority to deliver projects focussing on decarbonisation and renewable energy. A degree or similar level academic qualification and membership in a relatable field is highly advantageous, along with excellent numerical and writing skills.
