Join our New Home as a Deputy Manager based in the beautiful, picturesque village in South East Cornwall. Our new home will be for two Children aged 10-16 years upon admission. Our children have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)and a range of developmental traumas, with mild to moderate learning difficulties, autism, and Aspergers. As a deputy manager, you will support the registered manager in running the day-to-day home and developing the team; you will be using our Attachment and Trauma Informed Care (ATIC) model, and you will lead a dedicated team in a culture where children are respected, heard and involved in their own lives. You will understand therapeutic parenting principles well and be committed to achieving outstanding outcomes. Our children have often had many adults come in and out of their lives, adding to their trauma and feelings of rejection. Therefore, we are looking for a committed and dedicated Deputy Manager to join our Five Rivers family. You’ll be a natural at building a rapport with children, enjoy play & adventure and be someone full of empathy so you can understand and relate to the children you work with, providing them with a home full of love where they can grow, learn and thrive before moving on to a forever family. The Five Rivers leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the childcare sector. We source and deliver up-to-date training opportunities and prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career. You will need at least two years of experience in a leadership role working in a children’s residential setting, hold your level 3 in residential childcare; if you have not already achieved this, be willing to work towards your level 5 leadership and management. You will also have a proven track record with Ofsted and an understanding of the legislative framework and SCCIF. Due to the location of the Home, a Driving Licence is essential. Part of the role involves some overnight stays in the home. You will need to do between 2 and 3 of these ‘sleep-ins’ per week, so the salary advertised includes the payment for an average of 8 sleep-ins per month. You receive an additional £50 per night for each sleep-in - if you completed eight sleep-ins per month, that's equivalent to £4800 p.a. Hours On average, 39 hours a week on a Rota Basis – some flexibility will be needed to ensure the smooth running of the home.
