Support Worker for young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties.
Position Overview: An alternative provision for children aged 5 to 16 in Oxford is looking for a Youth Worker to support the social skills, emotional wellbeing, and mental health of the students within their school. The school provides an alternative education for children who have social & emotional difficulties such as anxiety and school refusal due to developmental trauma and adverse childhood experiences, as well as specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. The Youth Worker will work to build relationships with these young people and support them to make positive life choices using de-escalation, positive reinforcement, and restorative practice.

Qualifications: The Youth Mental Health Worker ideally will have a degree in a related field or experience working with young people. Many of the children have experienced trauma and require someone with resilience and an open mind to support their mental health challenges.
