Senior Service Engineer – Harwarden, Wakefield, and Coventry
ALS Laboratories are searching for a professional Senior Service Engineer who possesses excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Someone who can communicate complex technical information in an easy-to-understand manner. You will be an excellent decision maker, who is solution-focused with a creative, innovative, and logical drive to meet business objectives. Daily you will provide technical support, preventive maintenance, and repair to a variety of analytical laboratory instrumentation, working both autonomously and as part of a larger team. This is a site-based role, at either Harwarden, Wakefield or Coventry, you may be required to travel to other ALS sites within the UK and Europe.
Instrumentation includes a variety of GC/FID/MS, LC/MS and ICP/MS/OES and IC.

Contract: Full Time and Permanent
Position Responsibilities
* Complete preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs for a variety of analytical laboratory instrumentation.
* Manage and respond to all allocated work requests in a timely and professional manner.
* Complete and maintain equipment service documentation in line with the requirements of the ALS Quality Management System.
* Work within the Analytical Service Engineering Team to provide the best level of service to the laboratories.
* Maintain a stock inventory of spare parts.
* Comply with ALS and ISO Health & Safety procedures.
About you:
* HND or higher in Chemistry, Engineering, or a relevant Scientific Field. Candidates without this level of qualification considered if they have relevant Field Service Engineering experience with an instrument vendor.
* Have specific instrument vendor experience such as Agilent, Thermo, Waters, Varian, Dionex and Skalar working on GC/FID/MS/MS-MS, GCxGC, LC/MS-MS and ICP/MS/OES, IC, and BOD/COD.
* Experience of working as a Service Engineer, Test Engineer or in a Technical Support role.
* Experience of working in a Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Laboratory field would be an advantage.
* Methodical with the ability to prioritise workload, manage multiple tasks and produce quality work in a timely manner.
* Ability to multi-task activities with shifting priorities and be able to adapt to changing circumstances.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
* A proficient level of IT competency and working knowledge of instrument vendor software is an advantage.
* Willingness to travel to other ALS sites within the UK.
* Be keen to learn new skills and undertake training to expand knowledge and competence.
