They are seeking a highly skilled Staff Systems Engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, and automation to join their team. This role is instrumental in managing mission-critical systems and leading large-scale infrastructure projects.
Your responsibilities as a Staff Systems Engineer include:
* Developing internal tools and utilities using Python or Golang to enhance systems automation.
* Managing and maintaining Tier-0 services such as DNS, DHCP, and LDAP, ensuring high availability.
* Overseeing hybrid cloud infrastructure, including bare metal and virtual machines.
* Writing and deploying configurations using an "everything as code" approach.
* Automating test plans for declarative infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms.
* Researching and implementing new tools and technologies to improve efficiency.
* Leading VM migration projects, particularly from VMware to OpenStack or other cloud environments.
Your previous experience as a Staff Systems Engineer should include:
* Extensive experience in managing Linux servers at scale in a production environment.
* Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible.
* Hands-on experience with RedHat OpenStack, including deployment and troubleshooting.
* Strong expertise in VM migration from VMware to OpenStack or other cloud solutions.
* Proven ability to develop automation scripts using Python or Golang.
* Deep knowledge of core Linux services like DNS, DHCP, LDAP, networking, and storage.
* Experience working with open-source tools for production environments.
* Ability to document and communicate system architecture effectively.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex DevOps tools and systems.
