Chef Required
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Chef to join our team preparing and making food for children. The ideal candidate will have a culinary background and a flair for creating delicious and healthy food dishes that delight our children. This is a daytime only position and will involve no evenings or weekends.
Qualifications
* Ideally suited for someone with either a BTEC, NVQ, City and Guilds qualification in food preparation, cooking, or Diploma in Professional Cookery from the UK or overseas.
* Or a BA Hons Degree in Culinary Arts; additional certificates and training in food hygiene, allergies, health, and safety would be desirable.
Salary
Starting Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum + day shifts only, excellent further training and career progression will be provided, paid holidays.
Duties
* Prepare and cook high-quality meals using fresh ingredients for children.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operation.
* Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
* Collaborate with management on menu development and special event planning.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
* Foster a positive team environment by promoting teamwork and effective communication.
Additional Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role.
* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices.
* Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
