Responsibilities / Tasks This role requires extensive travel across the UK to visit customer sites. Flexibility and a willingness to travel frequently are essential. Collaborate with the Site Manager to ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Coordinate with the Electrical Project Engineer to develop detailed Electrical Installation Specifications. Oversee day-to-day management of subcontracted labour on-site, including reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and coordinating work permits, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout). Review technical drawings and communicate key information to electrical installation supervisors. Manage the storage and secure distribution of essential installation materials and instrumentation. Work with the CAD Engineer to document proposed routing for cable containment, ensuring client approval prior to installation. Assist the Electrical Project Engineer in creating installation planning documents, and continuously monitor and record installation progress against these plans. Identify and accurately install instrumentation from the design package, advising the mechanical installation team on optimal installation practices for: Magnetic flowmeters Coriolis flowmeters Pressure transmitters Temperature transmitters Ensure all electrical requirements outlined in the design package are met throughout the installation process. Prepare a comprehensive site commissioning file, including up-to-date electrical drawings reflecting construction status. Assist in the power-up procedures post-installation. Lead the setup and I/O testing of devices (e.g., valves, VSDs, instruments), coordinating with the software engineer, and provide process commissioning support. Support the client in power-up procedures following installation completion. Work closely with the Electrical Project Engineer to provide technical solutions for any on-site installation challenges. Support the sales team by conducting site surveys alongside electrical contractors to develop concept designs and obtain quotations. Provide troubleshooting and technical support for existing systems as requested by customers. Preferred Experience Comprehensive knowledge of UK regulations, including BS7671. Proven experience with instrumentation applications, particularly for flow, level, pressure, temperature, weight, and analytical systems. Experience managing subcontracted labour on large-scale projects. Strong understanding of electrical and P&I (Piping and Instrumentation) drawings. Familiarity with the beverage industry, including relevant regulations and certifications. Experience with hazardous area applications, zoning, calculations, and wiring system installations. Proficient in control bus systems, including AS-I, Profibus, and industrial Ethernet networks. Your Profile / Qualifications Qualifications HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with relevant industry experience. Experience 7 Years experience in the hygienic process installation and commissioning of electrical systems. Ability to attend client meetings and record minutes of the meeting Installation of Process Instrumentation Generation of project documentation (Installation Schedule & I/O Commissioning Documents) AutoCAD & Microsoft Office literate Control Panel Testing Hazardous Area Installation (Zone 22) Essential Requisites Technical and professional knowledge Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be proactive and resourceful Planning and Organisational skills Good Communication skills UK Drivers license Did we spark your interest?
