An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical UTOO (Urology, Trauma & Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology) Division for a conscientious and enthusiastic Business Unit Support Administrator. This post will play a pivotal role in the delivery of Ophthalmology services by providing high quality person centred care to our patients. This role within Ophthalmology contributes towards improvement of performance and systems, the management of the Ophthalmology rotas and line management of the Ophthalmology Failsafe Officers.
To ensure patient target lists or inpatient/outpatients are checked/updated daily by liaising with medical secretaries and Choice and Access Department. To ensure that if problems with the above arise, these are brought to the attention of the Operational Service Manager/Service Manager/Support Manager and in their absence the Business Manager. To keep up to date with changing information technology systems to facilitate efficient data collection and efficient use of resources, to liaise with the information department to ensure that PTLs are populated correctly. To provide an accurate and efficient Risk Management administration service to the Business Unit Management Team.
Main duties of the job
This post is full time at 37.5 hours a week with the position to be based at Lincoln or Boston, (depending on candidates preferred site) with 1/2 days travel a week to other sites.
Candidates must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills with tact and diplomacy at all times. Experience of working with people in a patient or customer faced environment and being adaptable to change are essential. Candidates must also possess A level English OR equivalent experience with good written communication. A Foundation Management qualification is desirable as is knowledge and experience of managing access targets within the NHS.
The successful candidate will also have the following skills;
