The Senior Projects Manager has a crucial role in delivering the NatSSIPs 2 Project across CUH and campus supporting the Trusts NatSSIPs Clinical Lead, the Director of Clinical Quality & the Patient Safety Team. The post holder is responsible for supporting and managing the delivery of the NatSSIPs 2 Project at CUH under the direction of the Clinical Lead for NatSSIPs, working with the Director of Clinical Quality, that are critical in enabling the organisation to meet its aims and vision and deliver its strategy. The project may be individual projects, stages of a larger project, or work streams of a programme with dependencies on other projects being led by other teams within the Trust.
An expert facilitator, the post holder will play a key role in identifying risks and issues, and operate as a skilled negotiator and 'unblocker' to drive progress towards delivery. They will be responsive to the changing needs of the health and care system. The role is crucial for creating and maintaining focus, enthusiasm and momentum. The Senior Projects Manager is responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme of work they are allocated.
Main duties of the job
* Crucial supportive role to ensure delivery of the Project portfolio. Supporting the development and implementation of programme planning and governance methodology for use in all Project workstreams.
* Supporting the Clinical Lead for NatSSIPs, Director of Clinical Quality and senior team in the role of critical friend to enable CUH teams to develop detailed project plans and governance in line with methodology above.
* Supporting the development and active maintenance of an overall Projects programme plan to ensure and track implementation.
* Supporting the coordination of workstreams; identification of interdependencies, risks and issues; 'unblocker' of issues to enable projects to progress.
* Supporting the production of business cases, providing expert professional knowledge to facilitate their development.
* Reporting of progress to the Clinical Lead for NatSSIPs and, Director of Clinical Quality, management executive and board as required.

Qualifications
* Educated to Masters level or demonstrable equivalent level of knowledge.
* Evidence of Project Management training or sufficient experience that demonstrates equivalent level of knowledge.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience of developing project strategies.
* Extensive experience of managing large scale complex programmes and projects using recognised methodology (e.g. Prince 2) and tracking and monitoring their implementation.
* Experience of the identification and management of risks, issues and dependencies.
* Experience of developing performance indicators to monitor project and programme delivery.
* Experience of change management with proven negotiating and influencing skills both internally and externally.
* Experience of project budgets; knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation.
* Experience of benefits realisation.
* Experience of producing business cases.
* Experience of developing documents and policies.
* Evidence of working with multi-disciplinary staff across a diverse professional organisation to specify solutions to support the successful delivery of projects.
