Affinity Water have a fantastic opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to join our expanding team of Instrumentation, Control & Automation Engineers based in Roestock.
About Us
Our Control Systems Engineers play a vital role in supporting both the delivery of new and clean water infrastructure, as well as the maintenance and operation of existing clean water assets for our 3.9 million customers.
The Role:
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will be expected to develop highly safe and reliable software that conforms to existing Affinity Water standards. You will be expected to attain a high level of understanding and competence in relation to software-based control systems within the company. Success in this role will be demonstrated by the delivery of fully documented high-quality software solutions within agreed timescales.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Design, testing, and commissioning of PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for network valves, pumping stations, and treatment works.
* Control System engineering technical input to multiple projects within the business.
* Feasibility Studies, Cost Estimates, project software scoping.
* Provide technical support to Affinity Water production, asset management, and project teams.
* Provide Affinity Water oversight of system integrator contractors/sub-contractors.
* Writing of FDS, FAT, and SAT documents.
* Provide ongoing technical support on installed PLC & SCADA systems.
* Contributing to developing and maintaining Affinity Water standard software solutions.
What You’ll Need:
Essential Capabilities:
* Proven experience of working within the automation and controls industry (minimum 5 years).
* Experience of developing PLC, HMI & SCADA software.
* Engineering work experience - 3 years plus.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Experience of Allen-Bradley Logix PLCs.

* Salary: £58,247.80 per annum (dependent on skills and experience).
* Stand-by: 1 in 5 (included in salary).

* Hours of work: 08:00am - 16:00pm (Monday to Thursday), 08:00am - 15:30pm (Friday).
