Apprenticeships Operations Manager
Location – Mobile (Scotland North)
Salary: £56,700 - £69,300
2/3 days can be worked at home per week

Role purpose:
As a member of the management team, this role will provide the leadership necessary for the effective operation of CITB, to externally and internally be an advocate of CITB’s purpose, aims and vision, and to work effectively with others across CITB in order to achieve the synergies that deliver CITB’s objectives. To provide management expertise across all areas of team functionality, ensuring internal integration, effective and efficient operation, and clear direction and purpose that in turn, shapes priorities, objectives, and outcomes.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
1. Work as part of the apprenticeship management team to ensure the successful delivery of CITB apprenticeships including the management of defined delivery contracts at an annually agreed value.
2. Develop of strategies to deliver business growth, quality and continuous improvement, and outstanding learner management.
3. Through the analysis of industry and employer needs develop and implement an on-going strategy for provision development across all trades / apprenticeship programmes.
4. Develop relationships at a senior level with funding agencies, industry, federations, and the provider network to promote CITB and maximise opportunities through collaborative working.
5. Lead the Apprenticeship Development Managers / Team Leaders responsible for the operational delivery of apprenticeship programmes (work-based).
6. To work closely with colleagues from the National Construction College, contributing to improvements to programmes and ensuring that CITB delivery is seamless and fit for purpose.
7. Contribute to organisational planning (operational, financial, and strategic) and ensure that CITB deliver to a coherent set of activities within its apprenticeship provision, whilst ensuring delivery against industry needs.
8. Work closely with the Apprenticeship Quality Manager, support self-assessment activities and drive the Quality Development Plan with the operational team.
9. Manage relationships with sub-contracted partners via the operational team, ensure adherence to the agreements and contracts that are in place.
10. Work with internal and external stakeholders in the forecast and achievement of apprenticeship starts inline with the agreed budget.
Knowledge and experience:
Essential
• Experience in a management role covering operational responsibilities.
• Experience of being accountable for apprenticeship delivery ideally within construction or a closely related sector.
• Demonstrable track record of delivering successful apprenticeship operations, including meeting learner, employer, funding body and inspectorate expectations and requirements.
• Experience of working to defined budgets.
• Experience of managing remote teams.
Desirable
• Knowledge of wider CITB career related products.
• Construction industry knowledge and / or experience.
Special Conditions/Other Requirements:
Travel as required throughout the relevant nation to internal and external client, supplier and stakeholder sites which will include overnight stays.
