The role of Sales Manager
The main purpose of the role is to support and develop business interests and secure sales contracts for onshore Wind Energy Convertors. Our Sales team are located from our Edinburgh office. You will have options to work remotely on a hybrid basis and will be required to travel to customer meetings across GB. You will be supported by the Head of Sales and the wider sales team throughout your induction process and within the role. Having previous experience in a similar role will be highly advantageous.
Your main role and responsibilities
* Work closely with the Head of Sales to target and engage with customers and secure order intake
* Understand and evaluate assigned customer pipelines
* Develop long term positive relationships with current and future customers
* Informally provide consultancy and advice to customers
* Influence key decision makers towards the selection of ENERCON turbines for their projects
* Negotiate contracts from initial enquiry through to contract signature
* Develop strong relationships with internal sales support departments such as Sales Operations, Site Assessment, Legal, Project Management, Aftersales, and Service
* Develop a strong understanding of ENERCON’s technical and commercial offering
* Create and maintain data in our customer relationship management system
* Follow internal sales processes
* Liaise with sales managers in other countries to share best practice
* Participate pro-actively in sales team meetings to help shape department strategy
* Participate in fairs and exhibitions to generate and maintain business relationships

* Your hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Qualifications and experience
* A qualification in business or engineering is beneficial
* Previous experience and a proven track record in a competitive sales environment is essential
* Experience in the wind energy sector or similar industry is highly advantageous
* Experience negotiating contracts is essential
