Early Years Learning Support Assistant Grade 3 Job Start Date: As soon as possible TA3 Points 7 - 17, £25,584 to £30,060 FTE, £19,739.79 - £23,193.33 per annum (actual) 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday – 32.5 hours per week St. Mary’s CE (VA) Primary School is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work in Early Years alongside our friendly, dedicated and supportive team who are committed to providing the best provision for our pupils. Applicants must hold a relevant Early Years qualification (to check your qualifications please see link https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-qualifications-achieved-in-england ) The successful candidate will: Have a thorough knowledge of safeguarding Believe that young children are important members of our school family and have much to contribute Observe, guide and extend the children during active play/learning sessions Record and act upon observations of pupils Monitor and support children’s development across all areas of learning, in a range of contexts including outdoors Assist with planning and preparation of resources and learning materials and the development and maintenance of an appropriate learning environment Create visually appropriate, stimulating and interactive classroom materials and displays Thrive as a member of the whole school staff team Assist with the pastoral care of children Support children during meal times Undertake a range of duties within the school setting Be able to work independently with pupils using speech and language programmes The successful candidate will have: Experience of teaching within EYFS with evidence of having achieved positive outcomes Knowledge and understanding of how children learn A sound grasp on the concept of inclusive practice A good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice Experience of working closely with parents and successful home-school partnerships that support pupils’ needs Knowledge and experience of using basic diagnostic tests for identifying specific needs Experience of following and interpreting Speech and Language reports St. Mary’s CE (VA) Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
