The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has opened up for an experienced Roads Project Manager to be responsible for overseeing the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities throughout the entire life cycle of the contract or work package, in line with the overall project schedule. As the Road Project Manager, your role will ensure that all planning and delivery meet the project's safety, quality, time, and cost requirements, ensuring successful project execution.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Lead and manage on-site project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives and milestones.
3. Implement best practices in project management to optimize efficiency and quality.
4. Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
5. Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth project progression.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
1. Proven experience as a Project Manager in large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, major complex projects (value size approx £18 mil plus).
2. Good leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
3. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
4. Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the energy or construction sector.
5. Experience with NEC contracts with a multiprogram construction background.
6. NEC 3 / 4 or Construction qualifications or other relevant memberships.
7. Ability to deliver contract scope within a fast-paced and changing environment.
It's great if you also have the following:
1. Qualification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
The setting for the role:
Risks and hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gases, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high-pressure circuits, steam, and high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
