Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Hydraulic Hose Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing on-site hydraulic hose repair and replacement services to clients in industries such as construction, agriculture, mining, and material handling. You will troubleshoot hydraulic hose systems, fabricate hoses on-site, and ensure timely and professional service delivery to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. On-Site Hydraulic Hose Repair and Replacement: Travel to client locations to assess, diagnose, and repair or replace damaged hydraulic hoses on heavy machinery such as backhoes, forklifts, excavators, and more.
2. Hose Fabrication: Use mobile tools and equipment to cut, crimp, and assemble hydraulic hoses and fittings on-site based on the specific needs of the machinery.
3. Troubleshooting: Identify hydraulic hose issues quickly and accurately, recommend appropriate solutions, and complete repairs efficiently.
4. System Testing: After replacement, perform pressure testing to ensure the integrity of the hydraulic system and prevent future breakdowns.
5. Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients, explaining repairs, and providing preventative maintenance recommendations.
6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all services performed, including parts used, labor time, and any additional maintenance recommendations.
7. Preventative Maintenance: Advise customers on best practices for extending the life of their hydraulic hoses and minimizing future breakdowns.
8. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for both the technician and the customer.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in hydraulic systems, mechanical repair, or a related field. Experience with heavy equipment and hydraulic hose systems is highly preferred.
2. Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot hydraulic systems and operate mobile hose crimping equipment.
3. Certification: Relevant technical certifications in hydraulic systems or heavy equipment repair are preferred but not required.
4. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, both in person and over the phone.
5. Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing hydraulic issues and providing effective repairs.
6. Physical Ability: Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts, work in various weather conditions, and stand for long periods of time.
7. Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required, as this role involves significant travel to client sites.
