Job responsibilities Service Delivery & Development Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, the senior clinicians, senior IT staff and management to deliver in a timely manner reports required by the ODN Boards, Clinical and Programme team, NHS England and other internal and external organisations. Promote a culture which will ensure the security and confidentiality of data to standards set by current legislation. Develop and review SOPs & policies and highlight operational recommendations to ODN management leads team such as changes in working practice to accommodate data entry; improving the accuracy of data collection; improving the accessibility of information across the ODNs hubs and spoke sites. Manage the development and maintenance of robust validation of activity data to support ODNs to recover appropriate income from the responsible commissioners for the patient activity. Work closely with the Clinicians and Managers to support them in production of quantative and qualitative datasets, including; demographical maps, prevalence heat maps to ensure effective strategic planning and expansion of patient services. Develop understanding of the importance of Health Informatics within clinical units especially in relation to data quality, as a tool to improve patient outcomes, audits and information governance. Ensure IM&T (Information Management, Governance and Technology) information is processed in accordance with policies and procedures. Governance (E.g, CQC, Audit) To ensure that patient safety is at the centre of the CMGs delivery of patient services To help ensure that within the CMG, governance and risk management are seen to be everyones responsibility. To review and maintain effective systems to record and monitor governance and risk information. To ensure Arden & GEM National HCV Registry is regularly audited and a high level of data accuracy has been maintained. To thoroughly review NHSE PTPPS (Per Treated Patient Payment Scheme) reports to ensure Trust has received correct funding according Blueteq submissions. To support the Hepatitis Management Leads in ensuring that the ODNs employ robust risk management and systems for clinical quality and safety improvement. Promote clinical information for benchmarking and audit to improve the patient experience. Database Management To manage, delegate and conduct data entry into the regional clinical databases Identify and produce the most efficient means of recording and storing data within testing and treatment services. Provide guidance and support to regional addiction service and prison data leads. Routinely provide and delegate data quality checks to verify integrity of system data and take appropriate actions for ODN databases. Regularly analyse, report and present Hepatitis C data using MS Excel and HCV National Registry. To comply with current data protection legislation (GDPR). User Support To design data collection plans and templates to obtain key clinical data, including demographic, clinical and transmission prevalence to be reported at a national level. To organise and host a monthly SystmOne drop in support session to understand and explain complex hepatitis C report suite information to regional prison healthcare staff. To communicate and disseminate to stakeholders of any changes made to reporting systems functionality or usability. To support system access at remote sites and outreach services. This may involve analysing and investigating complex software fault diagnosis and IT Helpdesk call logging. Data and Information Ensure that required national report to the Arden & GEM HCV National Registry, NHSE and other national audits (CQUIN) and local audit requirements are met, designing reports and liaising with the Information Technology department as necessary. On behalf of the services be responsible for the regular and detailed analysis of data, working with the clinical team on patient level data and patient feedback platforms. To run monthly reports from the trusts Business Intelligence Unit Dashboard to support such analysis. Design forms to facilitate real time data collection as appropriate across hub and spoke sites as appropriate. Provide data to clinical and operational staff for meetings. Provide ad hoc reports as and when required. Professionally report and distribute findings. Take part in research and development projects/complex surveys internally and externally as required. To be accountable for maintaining high quality data. Using your experience and excellent interpersonal skills ensure that the profile of hepatitis data quality is raised, so that all levels of staff are aware of its importance. Identify and report data quality issues and report them to the ODN Managers.
