Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Sales to join a thriving business based in Scarborough, recognised as one of the UK’s top companies in its industry. This role offers a basic salary of £72,000 per annum, with a generous commission structure based on your team's sales, providing a realistic OTE of £90,000. This is a virtual role with the expectation of 1-2 days per month in the Scarborough head office. Ideally, you will be based within a commutable distance to Scarborough. We are seeking candidates with experience in sectors where relationship-building and tailored solutions are key to success. Familiarity with industries such as property, construction, or similarly project-driven sectors would be particularly beneficial. To be considered, you must be able to evidence your success operating at this senior level, demonstrating a proven ability to lead and deliver exceptional sales performance. As a key member of the dynamic management team, you’ll be someone who thrives on selling and has the drive to bring out the best in your team. Leading and managing a high-performing sales team while being a top closer requires a unique blend of skills—earning your team’s trust and respect by leading from the front. You’ll take full ownership of your area, actively creating new opportunities, and acting as a world-class trainer, mentor, and developer, with an insatiable hunger for success. You’ll enjoy working closely with your team, not just managing from afar, but engaging alongside them to hit KPIs and meet ambitious targets. As part of the leadership team (comprising the Head of Sales, Head of Marketing, Operations and Event Delivery Manager, and Financial Controller), you'll report directly to the Head of Business. The company sources leads from multiple channels, ensuring that your team contacts clients who have already expressed interest, selling them tailored solutions. Key Responsibilities: Delivering comprehensive training for new starters on selling themselves, the business, and our services effectively. Engaging with your team by listening to calls, providing motivation, fine-tuning their performance, and offering support where needed. Collaborating with the Head of Marketing to ensure a steady flow of high-quality leads and guiding your team in maximising these opportunities. Sharpening your team’s objection-handling skills to build a resilient sales force capable of turning challenges into opportunities. Refining opening questions to help your team excel in uncovering client needs and conducting effective fact-finding. Training on diverse closing techniques to enable your team to close deals with a variety of clients in different scenarios. Equipping the team with knowledge of success stories to confidently share case studies, building trust and client connections quickly. Leading by example, stepping in when necessary to demonstrate best practices—whether opening, handling objections, or closing deals, particularly with new starters or during training. This role is for someone who knows how to support and push a team to achieve more, always focused on helping them become the best version of themselves. You will be positive, high-energy, and target-driven, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team to excel. You must have sold at a high level and understand how to lead by example. Your team should respect you, learn from you, and consistently deliver growth under your leadership. If you have a proven track record of high performance and results as a team leader or manager, this role is for you. Package: Basic Salary: £72,000 per annum, with a generous commission structure based on team sales, providing a realistic OTE of £90,000—with no cap on earnings. Benefits: Comprehensive health cover, gym membership, sports and social events, 0% loans, and a small pension. Career Growth: Exciting opportunities for advancement—the leadership team is fully empowered to drive the business to new heights. Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday). As Head of Sales, you'll do what it takes to achieve results. Events Commitment: The Sales Team attends 30 events throughout the year, whether these are in-person events lasting 2-3 days in locations such as Manchester, Nottingham, or Scarborough, or conducted virtually. As Head of Sales, you will be expected to attend at least 6 of these events, stepping in to cover for the team at additional events if needed. Location: This is a virtual role with the expectation of 1-2 days per month in the Scarborough office, although more frequent office visits are welcome if preferred. Ideally, you will be based within a commutable distance to Scarborough. Holidays: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, totalling 33 days off per year.
