The Position
We are currently looking to recruit an Apprentice Test Technician based at the Elastomer Manufacturing Business Unit in Cockermouth, Cumbria working in the Test Team. During the apprenticeship, you will initially study towards a Level Three Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician qualification which is expected to take 42 months. The hours of work are 35 hours per week on day shift. The starting salary is £21,911.66 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
* The use of bespoke test equipment to conduct testing on new and innovative sealing products and solutions.
* Understand and comply with relevant Health and Safety regulations.
* Accurate recording and interpretation of test data to produce documentation and reports.
* Investigate seal failures and successes, providing feedback to colleagues and stakeholders as part of the research and development process.
* Liaise and update relevant stakeholders on projects.
* Assist others in the Test Team with preventative maintenance and calibration activities.
* Support the wider Technical group in their duties during fluctuations in workload.
* Contribute and implement continuous improvement ideas.

* Practical engineering skills.
* Strong adherence to regulations and guidelines.
* Ability to read and interpret data with strong attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

* Enthusiasm to learn and develop as new challenges arise.
Preferred Experience
* Previous experience within an engineering environment.
* Previous experience of CAD, particularly Autodesk Inventor.
Qualifications
* Willingness to progress towards a further engineering-related qualification such as a HNC or HND.
* The apprenticeship will include an element of study outside of working hours.
