About the Role Reporting to the Highway Design Manager, this specialist role will lead on the management of Nottingham City Councils (NCC) highways structures including design, delivery of NCC’s Planned Highway Maintenance, associated works programmes and asset management for all elements of highways structures. The successful candidates will focus on end-to-end management of the assets with the following key objectives: To lead on the asset management of the highways structures developing data sources, future works programmes and lifecycle plans for the assets To deliver robust inspections regime for all highways structures To lead on the design and delivery of highway structures Support the senior management team with reporting measures for ensuring that Capital Finance, Transport Strategy, and the Portfolio Management Office are updated with accurate delivery programmes and spend profiles for the works major works programmes To identify compliant procurement and delivery solutions and make necessary recommendations to the Senior Management Team. To produce technical reports to assist with funding bids associated with the management of the highways and structures assets About You The ideal candidate will have: Corporate membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent Proven experience of delivering robust asset management of highways structures. Proven experience in the successful design, management and supervision of highway structures construction works. Proven experience in the successful management and supervision of structural inspection regimes ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. In depth knowledge of CDM regulations, compliance and application of in the planning and delivery of highway construction activities. Knowledge and demonstrated experience of current practice in project management principles. Experience of delivering on innovative highway outcomes across a diverse range of specialist subjects and issues relating to the highway structures. Has a wide knowledge and working experience of current practice for the construction and successful delivery of highway structures and other civil engineering schemes. Has taken the lead within a professional environment, with an ability to deal effectively with criticism or complaints from a wide audience to improve service delivery Skilled in managing contractors when delivering successful construction programmes and projects. Ability to demonstrate clear budget monitoring competencies with a detailed knowledge of budget systems and financial regulations.
